Karwa Driving School (KDS) is the only driver training centre to be accredited with the highest approval of 'Diamond Level' in defensive driving by the International Association for Driver Education (IVV), UK, it has been announced.
KDS, the driver-training centre of Mowasalat delivering exclusive diverse training programmes in Qatar, obtained ISO 9001:2015 certification in quality management, Mowasalat said in a press statement.
According to a Mowasalat official, the certification is a result of KDS’ continuous efforts to uplift its standard in providing driver technical training and road safety education.
“The ISO certification manifests our continuous commitment to ensure quality training for all our customers,” the official added.
The KDS certification process, which included personnel interview and appraisal of departmental procedures, was conducted in partnership with Bureau Veritas Certification.
The process also included driver training operations, fleet management, training material development, handling of customer complaint, finance and driver enrollment process.
Aside from ISO certification, KDS was also awarded as Diamond Training Centre by the International Association for Driver Training (IVV), UK-certified.

KDS started its services in 2004 as a driving training centre on an area of about 42,000 sq m for training Mowasalat (Karwa) drivers.
Since 2007, KDS developed and started offering driving training to the public. It upgrades and updates itself constantly with training programmes duly accredited by specialist international organisations.
Since 2006, KDS added more training programmes duly accredited by specialist international organisations, which include a number of specialised courses to train public and private transport drivers to deal with major events and international conferences of all kinds hosted by Qatar.
One of KDS’ specialised training programmes is the “Preparation of Drivers for Large Events”, which is accredited by Maybo UK as part of the State’s preparation for hosting 2022 FIFA World Cup.
In addition, KDS was the first driver-training centre to be ISO 9001:2008 certified in Qatar; also City & Guilds UK, in addition to many other international accreditation and certificates, most notably the membership of IRU.
