In co-operation with the Algerian embassy, Katara - the Cultural Village Foundation opened the unique “Kingdom of Geometry” exhibition for visitors on Thursday at building 19.
On behalf of Katara general manager Dr Khalid bin Ibhraim al-Sulaiti, the exhibition was inaugurated by human resources manager Said al-Dosari along with the Algerian ambassador Abdulaziz Sabaa.
The opening ceremony was attended by several diplomats and dignitaries including Indian ambassador P Kumaran, Iraq’ embassy charge d’affaires Abdelsattar al-Janabi, and several artists and enthusiasts.
The exhibition includes around 24 artworks containing different Islamic geometric and architecture designs.
Talhaoui recalled he had travelled all around the Islamic and Arab world to collect and study the Islamic architecture and combine it with scientific methods.
He reveals the undiscovered beauty of the Islamic art decoration in a unique way displaying the ornamental language in his artworks. Talhaoui says that the objective of the exhibition is to share with the audience an amazing and unpublished discovery. “Here, before our eyes, through the geometrical ornamental art, the secrets of the universal laws are unfolded and expressed in a beautiful and perfect way”, he explained.
Talhaoui was attracted to this patrimonial legacy when early in his life he saw the relationship between science and the geometrical decorative art. “We hope through, over the years and through a collective awareness to interpret the mysteries of this priceless legacy”, he added.
