The third edition of the Mahaseel shopping festival opens Monday at the southern seaside of the Cultural Village Foundation – Katara.
The market festival, which runs until January 5, will be open from 9am to 9pm. A total of 22 Qatari farms, plant nurseries and six major national companies specialised in producing and selling sheep meat, poultry, eggs, dairy products and natural juices will offer their fresh produce to visitors.
The market features Qatari farms selling various types of fresh fruits and vegetables, flowers and ornamental plants and local companies offering food products related to livestock, in addition to natural honey produced by Qatari farms and the best varieties of local dates.
The festival also offers several entertainment and awareness activities for children and adults to enhance their experience and to educate them on the best practices while shopping. The activities will also include workshops on plantation and flowers arrangement, in addition to some essential agricultural knowledge.
Mahaseel serves as a good marketing platform for local farms, which offer reasonable prices for their produce. The festival has proved to be immensely popular among Qatar residents in its two earlier editions with huge numbers of visitors thronging Katara for buying fresh, local goods.
