Doha
Ashghal will implement a temporary closure from Thursday (December 20) on Al Markhiya Street (in the section between Al Istiqlal Street and Al Jamia Street) in co-ordination with the General Directorate of Traffic.
The closure until January 7 will be implemented in a section of the main lane on Al Markhiya Street on the direction from Al Jamia Street towards Al Istiqlal Street while two main lanes will remain open to traffic.
A section of one of the two left-turn lanes heading from Al Markhiya Street to Al Jamia Street will be closed while the other left-turn lane will remain open to traffic from today until December 30.
The closure aims to enable the completion of the second part of Phase 2 for a project to develop storm water drainage networks in 51 locations in Doha city. These new networks will be linked to existing main drainage networks in the area in addition to providing a storm water storage and control areas.
Ashghal has requested road users to abide by the speed limits, and follow the road signs to ensure safety.
