The officers from the Embassy of Nepal along with Nepali expatriates recently participated in the Friendship Parade at Aspire Zone. All the participants were dressed in traditional Nepali dresses waving Qatar flag in one hand and Nepal flag in the other hand.

Tej Katuwal, Vice President of Non Resident Nepali Association, said, “We have been working and living here in Qatar for a long time now. We consider this country as our second home and we have an emotional attachment towards it. We are all happy that Qatar has been hosting thousands of workers here. The relentless development, including infrastructures for mega projects like FIFA World Cup 2022 and Qatar Vision 2030 is gratifying”.

Another participant, TB Karki, a Nepali community leader said, “The country is all set to host the prestigious FIFA World Cup 2022. The country currently has the highest GDP growth rate. The country is taking critical and creative steps for further self-sufficiency and development projects.”

Nabin Pokheral, President of Non Resident Nepali Association National Coordination Council Qatar, said, “The parade reflects the strong relationship between Nepal and Qatar.”

Other countries which participated in the friendship parade include Morocco, Turkey, Pakistan, Su, Algeria, Somalia, Mali, United Kingdom, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Tunisia, Lebanon, and Japan among others.
