The Organising Committee of the Associated Activities of Qatar National Day-2018 (QND) Celebrations will host mega cultural, musical and sports events on December 18, at eight venues in collaboration with Asian communities, companies and schools.
This was announced at a press conference at the headquarters of Traffic in Madinat Khalifa yesterday by First Lt Abdul Hadi al-Dosari, vice president of Security Committee for Associated Activities of Qatar National Day Celebrations 2018 and Lt Hamad Ali al-Jahweel, officer of the Public Relations Department at Ministry of Interior. 
Representatives of Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Sri Lankan, Indonesian and Nepalese communities and participating schools were also present. 
A range of cultural events and musical performances will be organised in Wakrah Sports Club, Barwa Al Baraha in Industrial Area, Asian Accommodation City in Doha Industrial Area, Asian Town, Sheehaniya Industrial Area, Lusail Sports Complex and Al Khor Barwa Workers’ Recreation Complex along with cricket championship at Asian Town Cricket Stadium.
Indian, Sri Lankan, Bangladeshi and Nepali community teams and artists will give cultural performances and thematic shows at Asian Town in Industrial Area along with musical performances of orchestra team. About 2,000 members of Indian and Bangladeshi community teams will participate in the thematic parades. 
The Wakrah Sports Club will host a cultural parade of 3,000 members from the Indian community and special events by Keralite teams in Qatar. Kerala Muslim Cultural Centre will present popular shows and events along with other community teams. The event will be held from 2pm to 4.30pm in the football stadium and will continue from 5.15pm to 9pm at Wakrah Indoor Stadium.  
The Wakrah stadium will host a music gala by famous artists from Pakistan. Qazi Aref, Khalid Malik, Wisal Khayal, Dr Irfan, Amin Iqbal, Sajid, Afshan Zaibi, Dil Raj, Laila Nihal, Deeba Kiran, Rani and Wisal Khiyal are among the artists who will perform in the Pakistan community event at Wakrah football stadium. The event is from 5pm to 9pm. 
The Barwa Workers Recreation Complex in Al Khor will host cultural and folklore shows and musical performances of Bangladeshi, Nepalese and Indian community teams and Al Khor community teams. The orchestra also will join the celebration. 
Barwa Al Baraha (Doha Industrial Area) will host cultural performances and traditional shows by Indian, Sri Lankan, Nepalese and Bangladeshi community teams and musical performance by Asian orchestra team from 3.30pm to 9pm. 
Asian Accommodation City (Near Karwa HQ in Industrial Area) will host a parade by company teams, cultural performances and traditional shows by Indian, Sri Lankan, Nepalese and Bangladeshi community teams along with musical performance by Asian orchestra.
The Lusail sports Arena will host an array of thematic shows and musical events by Asian school students in Qatar. As many as 7,200 students from 18 Asian schools will join the mega cultural fiesta along with more than 1,500 teachers and other support staff. Ideal, Bangladesh MHM, Bhavan’s, Birla, Doha Modern Indian, DPS MIS, MES, Noble, Olive, Pak Shamaa, Pakistan International, Philippines International, Philippines Doha, Rajagiri, Scholars’, Shantiniketan and Stafford Sri Lankan Schools are the participants. The Qatar Institute for Speech and Hearing will hold a special show of their students in the event. 
The Organising Committee will host a mega international cricket tournament on December 18, with participation of famous cricket players from India, Pakistan, Sri Lankan and Bangladesh. The events are open for all with special places for families in Al Wakra Club, Asian City, Cricket Ground, Lusail Sports Complex and Barwa Al Khor.
