Ooredoo has announced that its customers will soon be able to use American Express cards as a method of payment on all Ooredoo online channels.
An agreement on this signed between the telecom leader and one of the world’s biggest names in payment solutions consolidates a 17-year relationship and lays the foundations for further enduring partnership, Ooredoo said in a statement.
Customers holding AmEx cards will be able to use them to make payments on any of Ooredoo’s online channels, whether paying their bills, topping up their prepaid accounts or buying devices.
Yousuf Abdulla al-Kubaisi, chief operating officer at Ooredoo Qatar, noted that signing the payment channel agreement with AmEx Middle East is designed to enhance e-pay services.
“This agreement allows more digital payment channels, which will save our customers time and effort,” he said.
Omar Alwi, vice-president at AmEx Middle East, added: “We are glad to reinforce our existing partnership of more than 17 years with Ooredoo and look forward to continuously contributing towards the government vision of a tech-driven community. We trust that such a relationship will allow our consumer card members and corporate clients to take advantage of the secured and flexible smart payment services.”
All that the customers need to do is enter the card details when prompted, as with any other card payment options online.
“Ooredoo is proud to be continuing its long-standing relationship with AmEx and looks forward to being able to better offer its customers ever more convenience with their transactions,” the statement adds.
