A number of international exhibitors, especially those working in the areas of homeland security and civil defence will demonstrate their services, products and capabilities at the 12th Milipol Qatar Exhibition starting at the Doha Exhibitions and Conventions Centre Monday.

The three day event, held under the patronage of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, will be inaugurated by Prime Minister and Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Abdullah Bin Nasser Bin Khalifa Al-Thani.
While giving details of the event on Sunday, President of the Milipol Qatar Committee Major General Nasser Bin Fahad Al-Thani said this year's expo has attracted several leading industry players, who are specialising in latest innovations in the safety and security.
The exhibition will set the agenda for internal security and public safety with specialists introducing new products and solutions, covering a range of industries. 
Director of the IT & Security Business Unit at Milipol EventsMichael Weatherseed, Milipol Qatar Committee officials Saud Rashid al Shafi and Lt Col Nasser al Othaibi were also present. 
It was informed that 219 exhibitors from 24 countries have confirmed their participation. Defence specialists from Qatar, France, UK, USA, China, Turkey, Bulgaria, Denmark, Italy, Germany, Spain, Morocco, Greece, India, Latvia, Morocco, Russia, Slovenia and Switzerland will exhibit their products and services in such areas as public security, defence solutions, equipment, telecom security and technologies, firefighting, radiation detection, emergency equipment, law enforcement products, communications software and airports security systems among others. 
Organized by the Ministry of Interior (MOI) of the State of Qatar and the French-based Comexposium Security, the expo will include five country pavilions – including UK, Germany, Italy, France and North America with 90 exhibitors from Qatar– with a 30% space bigger than the previous edition in 
Such topics as cyber security and cyber threats, civil defence and large events security management will be deliberated at the sessions held as part of the event.
On the eve of the expo Major General Nasser Bin Fahad Al-Thani said “Milipol Qatar 2018 is going to be bigger and better than ever before. Its magnitude can be gauged by the influential country pavilions, powerful speaker line-up and the introduction of one of its kind Live Demonstration Lab. We are happy at the higher number of registrations and the expo is sure to garner a greater visitor turnout."
While replying to a query from this newspaper, Major General Nasser Bin Fahad Al-Thani said a number of agreements are expected to be signed between Qatar and participating countries, especially on the second and third days of the event.
