The Qatari Armed Forces shooting team won five medals at the 51th World Military Shooting Championships (shotgun). The five-day event was held in the Italian city of Bari, with the participation of 21 countries.
In skeet individual men, Rashid Hamad al-Athba finished in the first place to win the gold medal. In trap male, Mohamed Khejaim al-Marri came in the second place to win the silver medal, while the third medal was won by Qatar team Mohamed Khejaim al-Marri, Nasser al-Hammadi and Mohammed al-Rumahi in the trap male team event.
The fourth medal was won by Sarah Mohammed in skeet individual female. The fifth medal was won by Qatar team Kholoud al-Khalaf, Amna al-Abdallah and Nora Ali in the trap female team event.
President of the military sports union Staff Brigadier General Yousef Dasmal al-Kuwari expressed his happiness about this achievement, extending his thanks to HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Dr Khalid bin Mohamed al-Attiyah and HE Chief of Staff of the Qatari Armed Forces Lieutenant-General (Pilot) Ghanem bin Shaheen al-Ghanem for their unlimited support to the military teams, which allowed them to bring successes for the armed forces in international forums.
