Fourteen Iranian security personnel, including Basij (volunteer forces) and border guards, were abducted by a ‘terrorist group’ on the border with Pakistan on Tuesday, an informed source said.
A terrorist group kidnapped them in Mirjaveh border in morning, (IRNA) news agency quoted the source as saying.
No further details were immediately available.
Border areas between Iran and Pakistan witness frequent security incidents, including an attack on a patrol of the Iranian border guards last year, which killed at least nine of them.
The two sides agreed last year to send troops to monitor the border between the two countries. (QNA)
