The second edition of the Katara International Hunting and Falcons Exhibition (S’hail 2018) starts on Tuesday at Wisdom Square in Katara - the Cultural Village.
The five-day exhibition is hosting more than 150 participants from 20 countries, including hunting weapons and tools manufacturers, hunting trip agencies, restaurants, falconers and others, Katara has said in a statement.
The exhibition will also offer daily lectures on falconry and breeding falcons, delivered by experts in the field, in addition to awareness lectures on safe hunting trips and overland safaris.
“S’hail is also a good opportunity to introduce the Qatari culture and heritage to international visitors, displaying a main factor of the heritage of ancestors related to hunting and falconry,” the statement notes.
Falcon auctions will be held during the exhibition with new breeds introduced to the local market.
The organising committee of the exhibition has budgeted for prizes worth QR30,000 for the best display booth and best falcon mask, in a bid to support handicrafts in this field.
