An array of entertainment activities and musical performances, both indoor and outdoor, will mark Eid al-Adha celebrations across Qatar from August 21-23.

Music shows, gift distribution for children and fireworks will take place at the Katara - the Cultural Village (beach area). Entertainment shows and fun-filled activities will also take centre stage at major malls, giving children the opportunity to engage with their favourite cartoon characters.

Mall of Qatar is bringing the SpongeBob SquarePants Show, scheduled from August 20-25 (11am to 10pm), while Doha Festival City invites young visitors to discover “Ben Ten and his unique magical device” from August 21-30 between 2pm and 9pm.

Lagoona Mall will present “Sleeping Beauty”, one of the world’s oldest and most revered fairy tales, live on stage (3.30, 6.30, and 9.30pm) by 11 British performers throughout Eid.

The Summer Entertainment City at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre, which forms part of the Qatar Summer Festival (QSF) 2018, continues to provide residents and visitors a wide range of indoor entertainment offerings – from amusement rides and giant inflatables to virtual reality games.

As part of QSF, participating malls are giving huge discounts to shoppers, besides the chance to win cash prizes and a super car (through vouchers) in the final raffle draw on August 31.

Several companies and hotels also have unique and special offerings to spend the holidays, from buffet and barbecue treats to dhow cruises.

A ‘lemonade dhow cruise and barbecue by 365adventures for example, includes a 40-minute boat ride, music and a meal with special drinks from Dhow Harbor to Safliyah Island. Pegged between QR100 and QR150, it will start on August 22 (4pm to 5pm).

The Pearl-Qatar’s ‘Spend and Splash’ summer-long water activities, which started on August 1 and concludes on August 31 (2pm to 6pm), continues to attract more people. It features parasailing, wakeboarding, banana boat ride, water park and doughnut boat ride.

Adventure seekers can try the five-hour “Full Moon Eid Special,” which offers safari (by professional off-road drivers), yoga and barbecue dinner from 3pm to 8pm).

The activity features dune bashing, lay-over at Inland Sea, yoga by Sonam Singh, full moon view and an option for a swimming in the Sealine beach.

Various hotels, including the newly opened Ezdan Palace Hotel and Ritz Carlton Doha, are offering special Eid menus and buffets for those who want to try a wide variety of local and international cuisines.
