An 84-year-old man has fallen to his death while hiking in the Bavarian Alps in southern Germany.
The man was hiking Friday near Schliersee, a lake about 10 kilometres from the Austrian border, police said Saturday in a statement.
The man is believed to have lost his balance and fell about 100 metres down the mountain.
Rescue services recovered the body using a helicopter.
Another hiker alerted the police after finding trekking poles and a hat.
