Qatar Charity (QC) is preparing to implement the project of furnishing 40 schools and 8 health centres in the Darfur states of Sudan, as part of the second phase of Qatar’s Darfur Development Initiative.
The initiative is implemented by QC with funding from the Qatar Fund for Development.
QC signed an agreement with a Qatari company to manufacture high quality furniture.
Qatar Charity said in a press release yesterday that it will provide furniture, laboratories and libraries to 40 schools with 14,400 students as well as eight health centres.
QC noted that it is establishing eight service complexes in the states of South, North, East and Central Darfur, as part of the second phase of Qatar’s initiative for the development of Darfur, which includes the construction of 10 service complexes in the five Darfur states, funded by the Qatar Fund for Development to support development efforts and promote peace in the region.
Qatar Charity’s eight complexes include 40 primary and secondary schools, kindergartens, 120 housing units, a number of health centres, mosques, police stations, water plants and solar power plants.
