Qatari traveller Khalid al-Jaber is embarking on a motorcycle adventure ride which will begin at the highest point in North America and end at the far south of South America.

He will travel some 43,000km from Alaska to Argentina, passing through 15 countries in the Americas.
The adventure is called “Between the Poles” because it begins near the Arctic and ends near the South Pole.
The route which al-Jaber will be travelling is considered the longest land track on Earth, where he will pass through nine time zones during the trip.

Beginning from Alaska on July 19, the journey will take five months and it will pass through Canada, Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Argentina and Uruguay.
"I am pleased to announce today my next adventure #transamericas #between_the_poles at @batabitqtr which will start on the 19th July from top north America (Alaska) and will finish in Argentina, bottom of South America.
"Many thanks for all supporters contributors and partners for this trip," al-Jaber said in a tweet, announcing the trip.
