HE the Chairman of National Human Rights Committee (NHRC) Dr Ali bin Smaikh al-Marri has demanded the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) to suspend the memberships of Saudi Arabia and the UAE for the gross and systematic violations against the Qatari people, in accordance with Chapter 8 of the UN General Assembly Resolution 251/60 of 15 March 2006. In a press conference held at UN headquarters in Geneva, he called on the Qatari government to resort to the Security Council to determine the responsibility of the siege countries on the illegal measures taken by them against Qatar, which amount to the crime of aggression, economic war and collective punishment against the Qatari people.
