A number of prominent Qataris and lawyers stressed that the country and its people have won the battle for sovereignty and independence, further raising the status of the country and its excellent reputation globally, local Arabic daily Arrayah reported yesterday.
This Eid al-Fitr marked the third major religious occasion (Eid) since Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain and Egypt imposed unjust blockade against Qatar, but the country’s endurance and the unity of the residents in support of the government and the wise leadership has amazed the world and proven the just cause of the country against the false accusations, the daily reported.
Many criticised the blockading countries for their inhuman stand, in particular in causing the suffering of mixed families across the GCC countries, by denying them their right to see each other and have easy communication. Besides, they denounced the practices of Saudi Arabia regarding its manipulation of the Haj pilgrimage, making the otherwise free religious right to all Muslims in the world, a politicised process subject to selectivity based on political favours.
Lawyer Jaznan al-Hajiri pointed out that the endurance of the people of Qatar has made the world review its calculations and made it ultimately convinced that all the claims and accusations against the country are just fabrications.
“This is the third Eid after the blockade, but the people are happy and prosperous,” he said.
Lawyer Mohamed al-Kahyareen stressed that Qatar has won over the politics of hatred and envy of the blockading countries with its positive achievements and enhancing self-dependency in many fields.
Dr Mohamed Saif al-Kuwari, environmental expert, pointed out that in spite of the blockade Qatar has continued, even expedited its political, economic, scientific and sports achievements and improved its infrastructure and the services given to its people, in particular health and education. He said that this Eid comes with a new joy and pride simultaneously for the various achievements of the country in spite of all the
involved challenges.
Lawyer Abdulrahman al-Jufairi stressed that all the attempts of the blockading countries to undermine the will of the people of Qatar have ultimately failed.
“The people stood in complete unity behind the government and wise leadership. Qatar has proven that though it is a small country by size, its potential and power to give are great,” he added.
