The Qatar Cricket Association (QCA), under the guidance of president Yousef Jeham al-Kuwari, conducted a coaching camp for local schools with an aim to build the sport at the grass-root level.
The camp for under-10 students was a big success as 935 boys from seven schools participated and learn various aspects of cricket from qualified coaches. The notable feature of the camp was all students took the lessons in batting, bowling and fielding with a great deal of enthusiasm and fun.
QCA assistant secretary-general Eisa Ali Ghanem was the chief guest at the closing function. He presented certificates to the coaches for providing their services voluntarily to the junior camp. 
He also stressed on the need to have more such camps to improve the sport at the schools’ level. The function was attended by the QCA officials as well.
QCA operations manager Manzoor Ahmad appreciated the cooperation from the managements of the participating schools. 
He also lauded the efforts of coordinator Amin ul-Islam, who managed to gather such a massive number of students from seven schools involved in the on field activities.
Bangladesh MHM School, Pakistan International School, Pearl School (West Bay and Thumama branches) Birla Public School, Stafford Sri Lanka School and Pak Shamaa International  School took part in the camp.
The coaches who imparted basic training to students were Aruna De Silva, Abdul Salam, Anil Perera, Haider Ali, Ravi Seeni, Praveeth Kumar, Shailesh Gajanan, Madushanka Dulaj, Md Najmus Sakib, Sanka Vimasha, Dr Suhail Yakoob, Imraz Rafi, Aneesh and Muhamed Salih.
