Qatar Post, in co-operation with Ashghal, launched on Tuesday a stamp to mark the opening of the '5/6 Interchange', which was formally dedicated to the nation on the eve of Qatar National Day last year.
The launch event was held at Ashghal headquarters in the presence of Infrastructure Affairs director Mohamed Masoud al-Marri, Qatar Post chief operating officer Hamad Mohamed al-Fahida and a number of other senior officials from both the organisations.

Al-Marri praised Ashghal's innovative approach. "The new postage stamp is very special as it represents the 5/6 Interchange, the distinctive architectural icon and the Qatari landmark that combines the country’s past, future and the original maritime heritage.
"The images selected for the new postage stamp included 5/6 interchange and the arches that symbolise the stability of Qatar and its resilience to the challenges," he explained.
Al-Fahida revealed that in a first for the Middle East, when the new self-adhesive stamp is scanned with the augmented reality application Qatar Stamps, a short film can be seen along with the information of the architectural landmark.
"The augmented reality application is a revolution in the world of stamps," he added.
