Abdullah Abdulghani & Brothers (AAB), dealer of Toyota and Lexus in Qatar, presented the winners of Toyota cars with their iconic keys during a ceremony, held together with Qatar Stars League Management, at Doha’s Al Bidda Tower.
The winners of the new wheels are thrilled football fans who attended matches during the Qatar Cup semi-finals and final, of which AAB Toyota was a proud Official Sponsor.
A number of fans in the stadium for the tournament not only enjoyed a fabulous match and atmosphere when they attended, but for many lucky ones, raffle draws were held during semi-finals (April 21 and 22) and the final (April 27). All matches were played at the Al Sadd Stadium with many taking home luxury prizes.
QSLM’s Marketing and Communications acting executive director Hassan Rabiah al-Kuwari presided over the function, attended by Head of Corporate Services Bader al-Mansouri, Head of Corporate Sponsorship Meshaal Abdulaziz al-Emadi and Community Relations officer Nasser al-Kuwari.
Senior marketing manager (Automotive) Firas Mufti and assistant marketing manager PR Kannan represented AAB.
The winners are Nasser Sultan al-Hajri, Ali Fadl Othman, Mahmoud Moursi, Mamoun Almahdi, Abdulrahman Abdulaziz al-Marri, Mohamed Syed Mohamed and Mohamed Raizul.
Hassan congratulated the winners and thanked AAB for the support it extends to the football scene in Qatar.
“Firstly, I would like to congratulate all winners, the proud owners of Toyota cars. I take this opportunity to thank AAB for its continued and valued partnership with us. It added glitz and glamour to the elite Qatar Cup,” said Hassan.
Firas said, “We feel honoured with our huge partnership with the QSLM. It’s a continued tie-up. We believe we’re adding value to the sports industry in general and Qatar football in particular through this association.”
Ten-year-old Nasser, an ardent fan of Al Sadd team, opined he was surprisingly shocked after hearing the news.
“I was in shock for some time when I heard that I won the prize. This is the first time I’m winning a prize. I can’t express my happiness in words. I’m a regular at the stadium for Al Sadd’s matches. This gives even more motivation to attend games,” said Nasser, who was accompanied by his uncle.
Moursi said he never expected to win.
“I watch some games, but I never expected to win a car as a prize. I’m so happy that I won,” he said.
Raizul, who played football at school level in his native Sri Lanka, felt “over the moon”.
The fifth edition of the Qatar Cup saw Al Duhail defeat Al Sadd in the final. Al Duhail had beaten Al Gharafa in the semi-finals while Al Sadd overcame Al Rayyan.        (QSL)
