Qatar participated in the 'Lebanon Contact Group' meeting which was held at the headquarters of Italy's Foreign Ministry (Palazzo della Farnesina) in Rome.
HE the Secretary General of the Foreign Ministry, Dr Ahmed bin Hassan al-Hammadi, headed the Qatari delegation which comprised Qatar's ambassador to Italy Abdulaziz bin Ahmed al-Malki al-Jahni and Vice-Chariman of Military Co-operation Authority in Qatari Ministry of Defence Brigadier Fahad bin Hamad Haie al-Sulaiti.
During the meeting, Lebanon Contact Group member-states discussed ways to support the Lebanese Armed Forces and the National Security Apparatus, with a view to establishing stability and security in Lebanon and assisting the Joint Support Fund for co-ordination between the Government of Lebanon and international donors, to strengthen the efficiency of the Lebanese armed forces and internal security forces and to seek to complete UN Security Council Resolution 1701.
