Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) yesterday celebrated Qatar’s National Sport Day by hosting a wide range of activities for its employees and their families.
The event emphasised the importance of an active and healthy lifestyle.
It saw the participation of the bank’s executive management team, employees and their families.
This year, QIB teamed with Aspire Active and the Jade Center to offer many sport activities and practical health tips to the event’s participants.
The day-long programme included exciting class demos with the professional trainers leading a wide variety of fitness activities and games tailored to test physical abilities and encourage a healthy lifestyle.
Aspire Active distributed free day passes and granted membership discounts to all QIB staff.
“The health and wellbeing of our employees is important to us. Our bank’s NSD activities reflect our commitment to support the government’s country wide initiatives to promote a healthy and active lifestyle for all citizens and residents in Qatar,” according to QIB group chief executive Bassel Gamal.
The National Sport Day, launched in 2012, aimed at educating people on the importance of physical activity and build a sustainable healthy culture across the society.
“The National Sport Day hosted annually by QIB is an important part of the bank’s on-going efforts towards community engagement. It is contributing to fostering a culture of sports in the larger community and we are really happy to know that our employees and their families realise the significance of this national initiative and choose to always participate,” Gamal added.
