The compensation claims committee has received more than 6,500 claims since it was established in June this year, local Arabic daily Arrayah reported.
The largest number, more than 3,400 cases, are mostly complaints of human rights violations against the inhabitants of Qatar by the blockading countries (Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain and Egypt).
The violations varies from severing close family relations among the families extended across the GCC region, denial of access to education and treatment, and denying Qataris access to their properties in the blockading countries, in particular the UAE and Saudi Arabia.
Other complains were submitted by students, and companies that sustained great financial losses due to the on-going blockade. Since it was first launched, the committee received 3,748 claims, which had already been submitted to the National Human Rights Committee.
In addition, there were 451 claims from different private companies, 303 cases related to education, 1,799 cases regarding loss of access to property and livestock, 588 cases about severing close family relationships, and more than 926 cases related to various issues.
The committee has also launched its website to help people with claims access its services easily and answer their queries and questions. Accordingly, work is going on at the committee to classify the received claims and take the necessary legal action.
