Visitors to Katara will be treated to a 'drone show' on Sunday and Monday, the first of its kind at the Cultural Village Foundation.

Also, a nationalistic show is scheduled to run at Katara’s Amphitheatre on these two days, while the Joint Special Forces will present spectacular performances between 3.30pm and 5pm on the Katara waterfront, where 60 paratroopers will adorn Katara’s skies with colourful formations.
Then, on Monday, Katara will host a fireworks show.
In a statement Saturday, Katara also announced that on the occasion of Qatar National Day, the Cultural Village Foundation is gearing up to welcome the Fath Al-Kheir 3 dhow in a grand way as it returns from voyages to Oman and Kuwait.
Maritime and sailing buffs will gather on the waterfront to welcome the Dhow at 4pm Sunday.
At Katara’s Esplanade, the eight-day festivities continued as patriotic activities, such as daily Al Ardha performances, workshops and fine arts exhibitions, and other cultural and recreational shows, drew residents and citizens from all walks of life.
On Saturday a large number of visitors turned up at the Cultural Village to enjoy a number of shows, including a colourful aerobatics show organised by the Qatar Armed Forces. There was also an air ambulance show, aerobatic shows by Al Zaeem college and an ‘Aircraft without a pilot’ show.
The huge enthusiasm seen at traditional food kiosks on Katara’s beach reflected the foundation's keenness to preserve Qatari heritage and national identity, the statement noted. Many of the visitors, both nationals and residents, were eager to taste the dishes these shops offered.
Visitors expressed their happiness and satisfaction as they marched through the premises hosting the food kiosks, pointing out that Qatari cuisine reflected the country's rich culture and traditions.
The scheduled events present a glimpse to the new generation of Qatar's heritage, through the food market and folkloric performances, and also displays the generosity and hospitality of the Qatari nation.
