His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani left Doha on Tuesday morning heading to Kuwait to lead Qatar's delegation to the 38th session of the Supreme Council of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), which will take place in Kuwait later in the evening.
His Highness the Emir is accompanied by an official delegation comprising HH the Personal Representative of the Emir Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani and a number of ministers.

Emir wants summit to maintain Gulf stability

His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani said he hopes that the GCC summit would help maintain stability and security in the Gulf region, according to the Doha-based Al Jazeera TV channel, reports Reuters.
The Emir also acknowledged that the summit comes at a sensitive time for the six-member alliance founded nearly 40 years ago, according to Al Jazeera.
The Emir and the host country's ruler, Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah are the only two heads of state set to attend the meeting, with the four other countries being represented by ministers or deputy prime ministers.
