Qatar Chamber has held a meeting with a delegation of businessmen from South Africa to discuss the prospects of enhancing joint co-operation in sectors including industry and agriculture, in the presence of ambassador of  South Africa to Qatar Shirish Soni.
Vice-Chairman of Qatar Chamber Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Tawar called on South African investors to establish partnerships with Qatari businessmen in order to enhance the relations between the private sectors in both countries and increase the volume of trade exchange between the two sides, which reached about $450mn last year.
He underlined the readiness of Qatar Chamber to provide the South African businessmen with all data and statistics to help study the investment opportunities in Qatar, noting that Qatar is witnessing a great leap in infrastructure development, which provides huge investment opportunities to establish real partnerships with Qatari businessmen.
The vice-chairman of Qatar Chamber reviewed a number of investment incentives offered by Qatar to foreign capital, calling on investors and businessmen from Qatar and South Africa to identify the available investment opportunities and enter into new partnerships.
 He noted that holding such meetings contributes to enhancing trade co-operation between the two sides.
For his part, the South African ambassador underlined the interest of the businessmen in his country to identify the investment opportunities available in the Qatari market, especially in the sectors of engineering and construction, oil and gas, water and juice bottling, information technology, industrial equipment and others.
He noted that South Africa attaches priority to the industrial sector, especially that his country has export destinations with all countries of the world.
He said that the visit of the business community in South Africa to Qatar aims at introducing Qatari businessmen to the potentials in South Africa.
