As AccorHotels celebrates its 50th anniversary, the group’s hotels will open their doors to “everyday heroes” around the world tomorrow.
Under this initiative, nearly 2,000 hotels throughout the world will open their doors to men and women who are firefighters, nurses, teachers, craftspersons and local shopkeepers - who work every day to serve their communities, according to a statement issued in Doha. It’s an opportunity for hoteliers and their employees “to thank them and share a moment with them around a breakfast, a barbecue, a concert, among others”.
AccorHotels has also said it is entering “a new era of services” with AccorLocal, a local services offer that gives shopkeepers the opportunity to offer their products within the group’s hotels, while hotels are given the chance to promote their hospitality services to a non-resident clientele.
With this, the group said it now enables communities neighbouring its hotels to enjoy 24/7 access to the services of their local craftpersons, shopkeepers and other providers within their hotels. Through AccorLocal, hoteliers are free to determine the services they wish to propose, based on local needs and on their own relationships with local
shopkeepers.
Besides, other services are provided through larger
partnerships.
AccorLocal will be rolled out in 2018 and 2019 in major cities and capitals around the world, the statement notes.
