A session of official talks were held on Monday between His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and Malaysian Prime Minister Mohammad Najib Tun Abdul Razzak at the Prime Minister's premises in Kuala Lumpur.
During the session, the Emir and the Malaysian Prime Minister discussed bilateral relations and ways of supporting and developing them in various fields so as to push them forward to a wider strategic level. 
The areas of cooperation which were discussed and reviewed during the session included economy, trade exchange, investment opportunities and human and social development, especially education, in order to serve the common interests of the two countries and for the benefit of the two brotherly peoples.
The talks also tackled a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest, especially means to enhance joint cooperation in the fight against terrorism.
The session was attended by members of the official delegation accompanying His Highness the Emir, while on the Malaysian side, it was attended by a number of ministers.
Earlier, the Emir and the Malaysian Prime Minister held a meeting during which they discussed the close ties that link the two countries and ways of developing them and exchanged views on regional and international issues. 

Emir, Malaysian PM attend signing of MoUs

His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and the Prime Minister of Malaysia Mohammad Najib Tun Abdul Razzak attended on Monday the signing of a number of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) between the governments of the two countries at the Prime Minister's premises in Kuala Lumpur.
The Emir and the Malaysian Prime Minister attended the signing of MoU for cooperation in training of diplomats and another MoU for cooperation in the field of higher education which aims at the exchange of experts, faculty members and students of various academic programmes among institutions of higher education, as well as the exchange of educational experiences and sources of learning.
They also attended the signing of a MoU on legal cooperation and a MoU on judicial cooperation to promote bilateral judicial cooperation.
Members of the official delegation accompanying the Emir attended the signing of the MoUs. On the Malaysian side, it was attended by a number of ministers.
