Strong winds are expected in most parts of the country on Thursday along with poor visibility due to dust in some places, the Qatar Met department has said.
Offshore areas, too, are likely to see strong winds and high seas on Thursday, according to the weather report.
The wind speed (northwesterly) may go up to 25 knots in some places inshore and 35 knots offshore, with the sea level rising to 12ft. Visibility, meanwhile, may drop to 2km or less at times.
Thursday’s detailed forecast for inshore areas also says it will be hot during the day, and slight to blowing dust is expected in some places. Slightly dusty conditions are also likely offshore.
A maximum temperature of 39C is expected in Mesaieed and Wakrah, followed by 38C in Doha. The minimum, on the other hand, will be 25C in Mesaieed and Wakrah, and 32C in Doha.
On Wednesday, a maximum temperature of 41C was recorded in Doha and other places.
The Met department also tweeted that the speed of northerly winds was expected to increase during the weekend, especially offshore, and mild temperature is likely at night – dropping to early-mid-20C levels in some areas.
