in brief

Qatar University has included two speeches of His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani in two courses of the Arabic language within the core curriculums.
QU said in a statement yesterday that including the speeches, which titles demonstrate “steadiness” and “glory”, aims at attaching the students with the authentic social and humanitarian values that prevail in the Qatari society, which His Highness the Emir highlighted in his two important speeches, on July 21, and at the opening session of the UN
General Assembly on September 19.
QU noted that including the speeches is consistent with the climate of steadfastness and pride, and the spreading of the true national spirit that confronts the siege and treachery against the country.
While studying the context of each speech, the student will apply his educational skills and will define the Arab values which the Qatari society and leadership have showed during the crisis, such as steadiness, pride, progress, tolerance, justice, respect for charters and treaties, defending the oppressed and co-operation between citizens and residents, among others.
