His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani has sent a written message to British Prime Minister Theresa May pertaining to bilateral relations and means to develop them. Qatar’s ambassador to the UK Yousef bin Ali al-Khater handed the message during a meeting with Colonel John Clark, the prime minister’s assistant for military affairs, yesterday.

to Lebanese president

His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani has sent a message to Lebanese President Michel Aoun dealing with relations between the two brotherly countries and ways of developing them, in addition to a number of issues of common concern. Qatar’s ambassador to Lebanon Ali bin Hamad al-Marri delivered the message during a meeting with the Lebanese president yesterday.

Mattis hold talks

HE the Minister of State for Defence Affairs Dr Khalid bin Mohamed al-Attiyah yesterday held a telephone conversation with US Defence Secretary James Mattis. The Directorate of Moral Guidance at the Ministry of Defence said in a press statement that the two sides discussed military co-operation between the two friendly countries, especially counter-terrorism operations, as well as the latest developments concerning the Gulf crisis.

Turkish exports to Qatar 
grow 84% in 3 months

Turkish exports to Qatar have increased by 84% in the last three months compared to the same period last year, Turkey’s Anadolu Agency reported citing data from Turkish Exporters’ Assembly. The data indicated that the Turkish exports to Qatar stood at $165mn, with the surge taking place in conjunction with the siege imposed on Qatar since June 5. The value of Turkish exports increased to $65mn in August, up by 75% compared to the same period last year. At $8.6mn, maritime and livestock products sector had the biggest share of Turkish exports to Qatar in August, while electrical and electronic services sector was second at $8mn, according to the data.
