Widam Food Company has made the necessary arrangements and preparations for the upcoming Eid al-Adha to ensure adequate supply of meat products, especially the sacrificial sheep.
Abdulrahman al-Khayareen, CEO of Widam, pointed out that Widam has a full plan that would be implemented with the support of the government entities concerned to make this season a success and ease the expected crowd at the sale and distribution outlets.
He further stressed that all Widam slaughterhouses are ready to meet the expected high demand.
In addition, the subsidised Arab sheep to be sold for Qataris at reduced prices are available in good number at the company's barns and the sale process will start on Saturday, according to the regulations set by the Ministry of Economy and Commerce.
The official also pointed out that such subsidised sheep would reflect positively on the local market and contribute considerably towards stabilising the prices.
Widam has a good stock of Australian sheep, which are available at the company slaughterhouses for QR350 each plus QR10 for slaughtering the sheep and preparing it.
In the meantime, Ali bin Mohamed al-Obaidly, Widam chairman, has expressed his thanks and appreciation for the efforts of the government in this regard, as all the necessary goods and items are available in the market at stable prices though it has been more than two months since the blockade started.
