The Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs (MADLSA) will soon launch a new electronic system for work permits, it was announced during a seminar held at Qatar Chamber.
In a presentation, MADLSA’s recruitment manager Fawaz al-Rayes said the new system will facilitate recruitment procedures of business owners and investors in the state of Qatar.

Speaking to Gulf Times on the sidelines of the seminar, al-Rayes said the new system “replaces the permanent committee for recruitment,” which was previously cancelled by the MADLSA.

Al-Rayes said the new system, which will be launched “in the coming weeks,” will provide all the needs of business owners such as job positions, labour requirements, and nationalities, among others.
He also explained that the fully-electronic system will allow companies to file a request “to bring employees through a platform.” The Human Resources Department can then fill out an electronic form with the information provided by the company, including its labour requirements and other data.
MADLSA’s director of Labour Inspection Department Mohamed Ali al-Meer said the new system was welcomed by business owners “because it meets the needs of the local market for labour and facilitates the procedures for recruiting employees.”
He also noted that the beta version will be launched this month, “in order to address any potential issue before the final version is released.”
Qatar Chamber director general Saleh Hamad al-Sharqi stressed that the new electronic visa system “will be an addition to businessmen because it will facilitate access to visa services and recruitment of expatriates without any obstacles.”
Al-Sharqi stressed on the role of the chamber in following-up the needs of employers and the importance of gathering inputs from companies and businessmen, which will be included in the new system.
He said Qatar Chamber will hold another meeting before launching the system. He added that the services provided by the new electronic visa system “are either free or with a convenient price, in line with the services provided by some ministries and government agencies.”
