Pakistan Railways is marking the 70 years since the country’s creation with an Azadi, or ‘freedom’, Train that will run across the nation for 15 days, featuring regionally-themed floats galleries. The train will formally start its journey in Peshawar on August 13, finishing in Karachi, and will be accompanied by singers, musicians and puppeteers. In August 1947 India gained independence from Britain and the state of Pakistan was newly formed. Independence Day is marked on August 14.
