The website of Qatari publication Lusail was hacked by Emiratis yesterday, the newspaper said in a tweet last night. The paper issued an apology for the site not working and assured that it would be back as soon as possible. Visitors to the site, meanwhile, were greeted by the message: “This site is currently under maintenance and should be back soon”. Earlier this month, the Qatar Radio’s website was hacked and the culprits posted fake news and insulting words on the site. On June 8, the Qatar TV website had to be shut down for some time after hackers targeted the portal, while the websites and digital platforms of Al Jazeera Media Network came under systematic and continual hacking attempts. Before that, the website of the official Qatar News Agency was hacked, with investigating agencies later revealing the UAE’s role in the hacking.
