Asian Town celebrated Weekend Festival on Friday at Plaza Mall with a live music show.

The festival was organised by Ibn Ajayan Projects, which manages Asian Town.

This is the fifth weekend festival to be held by Ibn Ajayan Projects at Asian Town and the organisers said in a statement that this weekend’s ‘Live Music Show’ attracted a big crowd, especially Asian expatriates, throughout its duration.

The show was performed by Trends, an Indian music band in Qatar, whose performance was enjoyed by “thousands of people who had gathered at the venue”, the statement noted.

Some talented singers from among the worker community also performed on stage during the show, which started at 5.30pm and continued until 8pm.

The Weekend Festival is an initiative from Ibn Ajayan Projects, which started in January this year, to entertain visitors to Asian Town - especially those who go to Plaza Mall on weekends. Entry to the event was free for the public.

The Weekend Festival at Asian Town will continue through the year, the organisers add.
