Qatar University (QU) has said it has launched a plan to accommodate Qatari students who have been affected by the ongoing Gulf crisis.

Qatari students in Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Bahrain were forced to leave the country of their residence after the blockade began. As a result, they were unable to continue with their studies at universities in these siege countries.
In a statement yesterday, QU vice president for student affairs Dr Khalid al-Khanji said the Student Affairs Sector was assessing, in collaboration with QU Academic Affairs and in co-ordination with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, the status of the affected students in order to find solutions that will benefit both the university and the students.
“QU has implemented a primary admission plan to enrol national students in the siege countries as visiting students at QU for the Summer and Fall semesters, until a final solution is defined,” Dr al-Khanji said, adding, “QU is the premier national institution of higher education in Qatar. It offers high-quality academic programmes that contribute to equipping its graduates with the abilities and skills that enable them to build the country’s future.”
