The Qatari economy is strong enough to withstand any shock or crisis because of its diversification, competitiveness and  strong position, HE the Minister of Economy and Commerce Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohamed al-Thani has said.
In an interview with Qatar TV, the minister said the blockade imposed by some Gulf countries against Qatar was surprising and unjustified, but was dealt with quickly. “We have found alternatives, in less than 24 hours, for products and materials that used to arrive by  land, sea or air.”
He expressed  surprise at the performance of some entities that promote themselves as free zones or regions. “Qatari-owned containers were seized suddenly. This puts a question mark on the credibility of the  movement of goods between the Gulf countries, and a question mark on the credibility of these zones.”
HE the minister said all the infrastructure projects and the works related to World Cup 2022 are going as planned.
