The last duty forces (Najran) of the Qatari armed forces arrived in Doha through Abu Samra border crossing and Al Udeid Air Base after participating in the military operations as part of the Arab coalition forces, the armed forces’ Directorate of Moral Guidance said on Monday.
Brigadier General Hamad bin Abdullah al-Fetais al-Marri, commander of the joint special forces, and a number of senior army officers received the forces upon their return to Doha. The forces were also greeted by citizens and residents upon passing through Abu Samra crossing towards Doha.
Brigadier General al-Marri said he was honoured to receive the last duty forces that participated in Najran, Khamis Mushait and Riyadh based on the directives of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, the Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces.
Brigadier General al-Marri said the armed forces carried out their duties with dignity and honesty in defending the territories of Saudi Arabia against any aggression and assisting in the protection of its southern borders.
He added that the Qatari forces participated in the military operations with hundreds of troops across the different ranks and branches, and dozens were martyred and wounded as they carried out the duty of protecting countries of the region and supporting the right of the Yemeni people.
