Qatar Charity (QC) has provided, in co-operation with Sobol Charity, clean water for residents of Taiz in Yemen.

The project includes providing 104 barrels of diesel per month to ensure the operation of pumps for eight major wells in the province, which will provide water for more than 300,000 people living in difficult conditions because of the siege, QC has said in a press statement.
Mohamed al-Kaabi, director of QC’s Relief Department, said Qatar Charity has implemented the project in Taiz with the aim of reducing diseases and displacement and protecting people from the dangers of indiscriminate shelling during their journey to search for water in places far from their homes.
He noted that QC has implemented many other projects in Yemen pertaining to water and sanitation. Al-Kaabi also thanked philanthropists in Qatar for their donations, which helped re-operate the eight wells in Taiz by providing diesel.
At a cost of QR60,000, QC had earlier co-operated with Al-Dawa Islamic Organisation to renovate, rehabilitate and furnish six schools in Marib in order to continue with their educational mission.
The six schools are Al-Mutawakil, Al-Durra, Al-Faruq, Jafra, Sahari and Humaidah in Majzr, El- Wadi, and El-Medina directorates.
QC recently implemented the Emergency Relief project, wherein it distributed 2,500 food baskets in order to provide relief from famine in the targeted area, whose population suffered from poverty and rising food prices. The initiative helped foster a spirit of social solidarity and secure the food needs for beneficiaries, the statement added.
