The Abdullah Bin Hamad Al-Attiyah International Foundation for Energy and Sustainable Development will be organising two key events in Doha today and tomorrow with the participation of global personalities in the energy industry.
The foundation will recognise and honour seven distinguished individuals for their lifetime achievement in the global energy industry at the Sheraton Grand Doha Resort tonight. 
HE Abdullah bin Hamad al-Attiyah, chairman, Al-Attiyah Foundation, will deliver the welcome address while Sir Mark Moody-Stuart, chairman, Global Compact Foundation and vice-chairman, UN Global Compact, is to deliver the gala dinner lecture on “NOCs in Transformation – Destination.”
The ‘Abdullah Bin Hamad Al-Attiyah International Energy Awards’ have been presented annually since 2013 and given annually to individuals for their lifetime achievement in the advancement of the global energy industry in seven categories. The nominees are voted on by an international selection committee who reward candidates for an “outstanding” record of accomplishment in their sector over the whole of a career of at least 30 years, men and women who have made an “exceptional” impact on the energy industry with “distinct personal achievements for a consistent and prolonged period” of engagement.  
On Tuesday, the foundation will host the ‘The Forum of Energy Elders’ at the same venue.
Al-Attiyah will deliver the welcome note, while the forum lecture on “Transformation of the Energy Mix Through to the Year 2100” will be delivered by Saudi Arabia’s former Oil Minister Ali al-Naimi, who is now adviser to the Royal Court, Saudi Arabia.
Former Lebanese prime minister Fouad Siniora will speak on “Trump First 100 Days: What Does it Tell Us About the Outlook for the Middle East Through to 2020’.
The foundation’s publication ‘Energy Elders Outlook 2020+ : Harvesting Solutions for Tomorrow from the Wisdom of Yesterday’ will be introduced by Dr Mark H Weichold (Texas A&M University, USA).
Among the panellists at the session are Dr Ibrahim B Ibrahim, economic adviser to HH the Emir and Noe Van Hulst, Netherlands ambassador to the OECD and chairman, IEA Governing Board.
