The Gulf Organisation for Industrial Consulting (Goic) took part in the recently-concluded ‘Global Manufacturing & Industrialisation Summit’ (GMIS) held at the Paris-Sorbonne University in Abu-Dhabi.
Goic participated in its capacity as a ‘strategic partner’ of the Global Value Chain Market (GVCM), a business matchmaking platform dedicated to increasing regional and international partnerships and securing contracts.
The platform will provide networking and sourcing opportunities both online and onsite via pre-scheduled meeting programme, which matches participants with the key regional and international manufacturers looking for partners, subcontractors, investors, or technical know-how.
Goic secretary-general Abdulaziz bin Hamad al-Ageel said: “Goic’s participation in the GMIS highlights its importance in shaping a global industrial vision based on knowledge economy, particularly the fourth generation of industrial revolution applications that are increasingly gaining ground in the operation and management of the industrial operation and logistics.
“Holding the GMIS in the UAE serves as an international recognition of the serious steps taken by the GCC states to focus on the industrial sector, in addition to their electronic readiness.”
Goic also took part in the summit’s exhibition, where its booth featured an overview of Goic’s various programmes such as the ‘Gulf Subcontracting and Partnership Exchange’, ‘Industrial Market Information’, ‘IMI Plus’, ‘Training and Capacity Development’, ‘SME Industrial Technical Assistance’, ‘Manufacturing Investment Opportunities Programme’, and the ‘Industrial Studies and Policies’.
The GMIS is an industrial gathering offering a voice and a venue for leaders with a vision to shape the future of manufacturing with a hand-selected audience of over 1,200 delegates, including government leaders, companies, and civil society organisations.
The summit was the result of a joint initiative between the UAE Ministry of Economy and the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (Unido), co-hosted by the Department of Economic Development (DED) in Abu Dhabi.
