Qatar Leadership Centre honoured 107 Qatari professionals yesterday evening for successfully completing its 2016-17 National Leadership programmes.
Distinguished guests were present on the occasion to congratulate the participants of the Executive Leaders, Government Leaders and Rising Leaders programmes. The special event was dedicated to the achievements of its participants and their contributions to serve the country.
“In striving to contribute to our nation’s goals, leadership development across sectors is an integral and ongoing process to elevate and maximise our efforts,” said HE Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, chairperson of QLC’s Board of Directors.
“We owe it to ourselves and our community to keep developing ourselves, professionally and personally. Qatar Leadership Centre can, rightly so, be proud of its role as an accelerator and promoter of life-long learning. With almost 400 of its alumni currently serving Qatar in the public and private sectors, Qatar Leadership Centre has already demonstrated its value in driving the country toward its ambitious objectives and increasing the nation’s prosperity through human capital,” HE Sheikha Al Mayassa added.
Established in 2011, QLC provides educational programmes to enhance the capabilities of individuals with leadership positions in government, semi-government and the public sector. In particular, QLC offers three National Leadership programmes for high-achieving Qatari professionals: Rising Leaders, Executive Leaders and Government Leaders.  The participants benefit from academic modules tailored in partnership with world-class educational institutions such as Harvard Business School and Cambridge Judge Business School.
QLC also facilitates engagement with influential local, regional and international officials through guest lectures and seminars.
Dr Abdulla bin Ali al-Thani, managing director and member of the Board of Directors of QLC, said: “Qatar Leadership Centre, at its core, serves and equips its participants to meet the challenges of an ever-changing, globalised modern world. However, it is the dedication of the participants that shapes the success of the QLC programmes.”
The 107 honorees become the newest members of QLC’s growing alumni base. They are “dedicated to applying their knowledge and experience to their personal and professional lives. In doing so, they will serve the country in innovative ways going forward,” a press statement noted.
QLC’s 2017-18 National Leadership programmes commenced earlier this month. As many as 122 Qatari professionals are enrolled across the three programmes.
Qualified Qatari professionals interested in the centre’s 2018-19 National Leadership programmes will be able to apply this upcoming fall. More information is available about QLC and its programmes at www.qlc.org.qa
