Ooredoo will launch its first ever ‘Smart Future’ contest at the 2017 Qitcom event, taking place at the Qatar National Convention Centre next week. The smart future contest has been designed by the company to encourage students of secondary school age and above to visit the technology based event and find out more about the future of Qatar’s technology.
As well as encouraging students to attend the event, Ooredoo has sent an open invitation to students to visit the state-of-the-art Ooredoo booth, to find out how to enter its ‘Smart Future’ competition, which will give young people the opportunity to have their technology ideas developed.
About the contest, Fatima Sultan al-Kuwari, Ooredoo community and public relations director, said: “We are encouraging all young people to come to QITCOM see how fast our country is developing and then think about which technology or services you want to help shape our nation and Ooredoo for the better. “Students will have until April 1 to develop their ideas and the best entries will be made by Ooredoo and showcased at Qitcom 2018.”
As ‘Integrity Sponsors’ of Qitcom, Ooredoo will use its presence at the event to demonstrate some of the cutting-edge solutions that will change people’s lives in Qatar in the future. Demonstrations include 5G, ‘Smart Stadiums’ services, Internet of Things solutions and more.
“This is an amazing opportunity for students to help Qatar’s communities and put their name on the map. We’re looking forward to receiving the entries and can’t wait to meet our country’s eager minds at the event,” al- Kuwari said.
Submitted ideas will be judged on innovation, design and/or uniqueness by a panel of expert Ooredoo employees. Students interested in submitting their ideas should visit the Ooredoo booth at QITCOM and then send their proposals to [email protected].
QITCOM is one of Qatar’s most important technology events, as it brings together leading technology organisations and top players from across Qatar and the region, showcasing the latest innovations and inviting businesses to take part in industry panels and discussions.
