Aleksander Mitrovic scored a match-high 25 points as Al Ahli produced a solid late performance to overcome Al Khor 79-70 in the Qatar Men’s League yesterday.
Branko Ereminov also excelled with 23 points for the winners to help Al Ahli bounce back after they lagged behind in the first two quarters before eventually emerging comfortable winners.
Al Ahli scored 20 points in the third quarter and 21 in the final, while restricting Al Khor to just 14 and 19, respectively.
For Al Khor, Gary Layton scored 24 points, while Mustafa Lasheen and Shawky Mohamed chipped in with 15 and 13, respectively.
In the second match of the day, El Jaish thrashed Al Arabi 86-68.
Leon Macklin top-scored in the match for El Jaish with 27 points, while James Davon was not too far behind on 21. Momar Talla scored 17 for Al Arabi.
