Qatar Chamber has urged its 53,000 members to update their respective company data and contact information as part of the chamber’s plan to setup an integrated database, it was announced.
Members were advised to update their data by visiting Qatar Chamber’s Department of Member Affairs or through the chamber’s website or by sending a fax or e-mail containing the valid commercial registration and copies of authorised signatories and name of partners.
The updating process includes filing an application form stating the owner’s personal information, company name, sector, address, PO Box, and e-mail address, among others. The new application is supported by a GPS system to set the location of the company.
“Developing a comprehensive database for our members comes in the framework of the Qatar National Vision 2030, which seeks enhancement our position among all world chambers, said Qatar Chamber director general Saleh Hamad al-Sharqi.
Al-Sharqi said some companies have made changes in their company data and contact information without notifying the chamber. An updated database will enable companies to receive information about the chambers activities, events, trade delegations, exhibitions, and conferences, he pointed out.
Department of Member Affairs acting director Al Anoud Zayed al-Mohannadi said the creation of an integrated members’ database is in “close cooperation” with the Ministry of Economy and Commerce.
“This database would us inform our members of government decisions, circulars, international agreements, brochures, publications and training courses, questionnaires, surveys, studies, and research.
“It will also help members recognise our services and the role played by the chamber in the business community whether at the local, regional, or international level,” she explained.
Al-Mohannadi also said she hopes that all members would comply with the updating process before the chamber’s general assembly meeting.
