Yemeni President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi has described his recent visit to Doha as successful, thanking HH the Emir for his continued support.
In a statement to the Qatar News Agency (QNA), the Yemeni president said that he held talks with HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, during which they reviewed bilateral relations between the two countries and ways of developing and strengthening them, in addition to a number of issues of common interest.
President Hadi said he had briefed the Emir on the latest developments in Yemen as well as the international efforts in support of legitimacy in Yemen, adding that the Emir affirmed that Qatar will continue its efforts to resolve the Yemeni crisis and its support for the legitimate government as well as its keenness on Yemen’s unity and stability.
The Yemeni president thanked HH the Emir, the government and people of the State of Qatar for their support to Yemenis through thick and thin, stressing that Qatar backs Yemen’s unity, security and stability.
President Hadi pointed out that during his visit to Doha, he held talks on a number of important issues to consolidate and strengthen bilateral relations, and exchanged views on a number of vital issues on national, regional and international levels.
The Yemeni president stressed the importance of Qatar and its position in the framework of the Saudi-led Arab coalition in support of Yemen and the return of the legitimacy and stability.
He pointed to Qatar’s contributions to Yemen, including in the electricity sector, with which it is building a 61.6 megawatt power station at a cost of $60mn, looking forward to the completion of this project to meet the needs of Aden during the coming summer.
Moreover, Hadi expressed his admiration at the development witnessed by Qatar when he visited Hamad International Port, one of the distinctive navigational and economic facilities in the region in terms of space, services and the container handling capacity and the other elements and components of the project.
President Hadi also highlighted Qatar’s charitable contributions.
