The Cultural Village Foundation (Katara), in co-operation with the embassy of Kazakhstan in Doha, hosted a concert on Thursday, in celebration of the 25th anniversary of Kazakhstan’s Independence Day.
HE the Minister of Justice Dr Hassan Lahdan Saqr al-Mohannadi attended the concert along with the Foreign Ministry’s Chief of Protocol Ambassador Ibrahim Yousif Fakhroo, Katara General Manager Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim al-Sulaiti, several ambassadors and representatives of diplomatic missions to Doha.
An audience of avid multinational music fans including Kazakh nationals working in Qatar, showed up dressed in colourful and embroidered national costumes.
Speaking at the event, which started with playing of the national anthems of Qatar and Kazakhstan, Kazakhstan’s ambassador to Qatar Askar Shokybayev hailed the strong and progressive ties between the two countries, while expressing gratitude to Katara for hosting the event. Camerata state classical music ensemble, which consists of 20 members, performed during the event.
