Ezdan World Co is gearing up to launch the second season of Magical Festival Village with the support of the Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA), and in conjunction with the coming Tourism Festival.
The new season will include various activities and events along with more than 200 games, parades, and shows targeting all segments of visitors.
The village plans to take advantage of its 1,200-seat theatre to showcase four global plays, Alice in Wonderland, Aladdin, Snow White, and World of Oz.
This season, the village offers free 25-minute art shows and a 40-minute main festive show for visitors, in addition to two international circus performances and 15 other activities.
In conjunction with the launch of virtual reality (VR) games, the Village will launch 29 new and sophisticated games, the first of its kind in Qatar and the GCC. An area spanning 1,500sq m has been allocated for the Village’s VR games.
Ezdan World Co general manager Abdul Aziz al-Mohannadi said the next season will showcase recreational activities and high-tech games, some of which are brought to Qatar for the first time.
He added: “We expect an exponential increase in visitors by up to 50% compared to the first season, which has also seen a great success. The first season opened up vast prospects to propel the village to fame as the first entertainment, shopping, and tourism project of such a huge size and significance in Qatar.
“Due to this season’s menu of programmes, festivals, and fashion shows, we expect a large turnout of citizens and GCC nationals because the temperature is mild during this period.”
The total number of games and shows reached 200 this season, including several main attractions – space trip, royal horses, the gyroscope, and sky view, which contains 18 compartments that can accommodate 72 persons.
