Strong winds, low visibility due to dust and a drop in temperature are expected in Qatar over the coming days, the Met department has said.

The weather office has also issued a warning for offshore areas during this period.
Weather charts indicated that the country would be affected by an extension of a high-pressure ridge centred over northern Saudi Arabia from Monday evening until Wednesday, accompanied by northwesterly-northerly fresh to strong winds, the Met department said in a report.
The wind speed will range between 15 and 25 knots, with gusts reaching 30 knots or higher over some areas, causing a reduction in visibility to 3km or less in some places due to blowing dust, the forecast states. In offshore areas, high waves ranging between 6ft and 9ft are expected, which may go up to 12ft in some places.
Further, the weather office said the “presence of low pressure in the upper levels induces the formation of scattered clouds” and there is a weak chance of rain - especially in the northern areas - during the daytime on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the mercury level will decrease from Tuesday until next weekend, with the maximum temperature expected to range between 29C and 31C in Doha and the minimum between 20C and 23C. The temperature may further dip to 16C or lower in the southern parts of the country, the Met department has said.
In view of the expected conditions, the Met department has reminded people to be cautious and avoid venturing into the sea during windy conditions.
On Sunday, low visibility is expected in some placed in the early hours due to fog.
Visibility may drop to 2km or less during this period, according to the weather office.
The detailed forecast for inshore areas says hazy to misty/foggy conditions are likely in some places at first, followed by mild conditions during the day. It may also be partly cloudy at times.
Hazy conditions are also expected in some offshore areas at times along with clouds.
A maximum temperature of 35C was recorded in the Doha airport area on Saturday, followed by 34C in the Qatar University area, Wakrah, Mesaieed, Al Rayyan and Turayna. The minimum, on the other hand, was 19C in Al Khor, Mesaieed and Turayna.
On Sunday, the maximum temperature is expected to be 34C in Doha and Al Khor, while the minimum will be 19C in Wakrah and Mesaieed. The minimum temperature will be relatively higher in Doha at 25C on Sunday.

The Met department has urges people to follow latest weather and warning updates through its website and different official social media accounts.
